Takeru Narihira lives as an outcast, a troublemaker who drifts through life with no attachments—except for the haunting image of a girl named Tsukimiya, who exists only in his dreams. His solitary existence takes a sharp turn when a freak accident sends him plummeting off a cliff. Instead of death, he wakes in Denji Heian-kyou, a dazzling fusion of ancient mysticism and futuristic technology, where the legendary onmyouji Abe no Seimei watches over the city. And there, impossibly, stands Tsukimiya—no longer a figment of his imagination but flesh and blood.

Before he can even grasp this miracle, disaster strikes. A sinister black fog, Yamikaoru, engulfs the city, unleashing monstrous Oni that slaughter both him and Tsukimiya. Yet death isn’t the end—Takeru opens his eyes once more in Denji Heian-kyou, as if time itself has reset. Realizing he’s caught in a loop, he refuses to accept their grim fate. Determined to save Tsukimiya, he seeks out Abe no Seimei, begging to be trained in the mystic arts of onmyou-jutsu.
